About the role
Reporting to the Co-Head of Clinical Years, you will provide academic leadership within the National MD program to ensure excellence in teaching in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology alongside their fellow Sydney based counterpart in areas such as curriculum development and review, assessment and promote high quality student learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Medical student teaching in clinics and during lectures, tutorials and workshops.
- Curriculum revision.
- Oversee medical student rotations at our clinical sites.
- Development of new clinical rotations where applicable.
- Student assessments during rotations.
- Developing examination questions- MCQs, CBE, OSCE.
- Oversee the Obstetrics and Gynaecology examinations including the OSCE examinations and written examinations including recruitment of examiners and development of questions.
- Be involved in UNDA Medical school activities.
Qualifications, skills & experience
You will play a leadership role in the promotion of major digital enhancements to pedagogical practices and professional activities. You will have advanced qualifications and recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area. You will require a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing. In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievement. In addition, you will require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area. This includes having authority to commit resources in line with the Operational Delegations of Authority.
- Medical qualification registrable by AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists or equivalent.
- Broad experience in clinical teaching and medical education.
- It is a requirement that the clinician has established networks with Western Australian Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
- Advanced proven organisational and management skills as well as problem solving and attention to detail.
